In Mecca Pact, 'Bangladesh First' policy will be followed: Shama Obaed
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed said that in the case of the Mecca Pact, the 'Bangladesh First' policy will be followed by giving utmost importance to the country's interests.

He said this in response to questions from journalists after a meeting with the IPU Secretary General around 11:30 am on Tuesday.

The State Minister for Foreign Affairs said that a decision will be taken after reviewing the Mecca Pact. The government will not take any decision that is harmful for the country.

Regarding the political situation in the country, he said that parliamentary democracy has returned to Bangladesh again. The IPU Secretary General's visit to Bangladesh will play a role in further strengthening the country's democratic system.

He also informed that the Inter-Parliamentary Union is viewing the young parliamentarians of Bangladesh positively.
