He made these remarks at an event organized at the Prime Minister's Office on Friday (July 18) to mark the completion of five months of the government taking office.
Mahdi Amin said that since taking office, the government has given top priority to restructuring democratic institutions and ensuring the country's economic stability. He claimed that within just 150 days of assuming power, the government has been able to gain the trust of the people.
At the event, the Prime Minister's Press Secretary Abu Abdullah M Saleh said that the current government is moving forward with the phased implementation of the BNP's 31-point election manifesto and the promises of the July Charter.
He said that in the past, the actual reflection of the development that was talked about was not seen in many cases. In particular, the erosion of social values has overshadowed the country's various achievements.
He also informed that initiatives are being taken to increase the capacity of district information officers to more effectively present the government's activities to the public.
Abu Abdullah M Saleh said that the Prime Minister believes in work more than words. He is leading the effort to bring about qualitative change in the country. Despite political differences, he has called upon everyone to work together to build a prosperous Bangladesh.
He further said that the Prime Minister has moved away from the culture of personality worship and is working by directly engaging with the people. To increase public engagement, he regularly visits various districts outside Dhaka.
The event was attended by Additional Press Secretary Atiqur Rahman Rumon and other members of the Prime Minister's press wing.
It is noteworthy that the BNP won the 13th National Parliament election held on February 12 this year. Later, on February 17, the new government took office under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
