Bangladesh wants to use Pakistan's experience in food storage
Food Minister Afroz Khanam has remarked that Pakistan's experience in long-term foodgrain storage could be very important for Bangladesh. She said this during a courtesy meeting with Pakistan's High Commissioner to Bangladesh Imran Haider at the Secretariat on Monday (26 October).

The food minister said that 50,000 metric tons of rice imported from Pakistan in the last fiscal year reached the country on time and its quality was also satisfactory. Although there is currently sufficient foodgrain stock in the country, preserving it over the long term while maintaining quality is a major challenge. In this regard, Bangladesh would benefit from utilizing Pakistan's experience and technological knowledge. Noting that there are ample trade opportunities between Bangladesh and Pakistan, she said contact between businessmen and institutions of the two countries must be increased further to expand the agricultural products market.
