He said this in his speech as the chief guest at the 'Cleaning Day' programme held simultaneously in 75 wards of DSCC on Saturday (October 24).
The administrator said there is no scope to occupy roads and footpaths under the pretext of humanity. To reduce traffic congestion and the sufferings of pedestrians, an eviction drive will be conducted again in the New Market area next week. He also stressed not allowing water to accumulate anywhere for more than three days to control dengue.
The DSCC Administrator further said that, at the request of CID authorities, the waste transfer station (STS) in front of their office in Malibagh has been removed and parking arrangements made. A new STS will be completed this month for waste management in that area. The cleaning drive, which started in front of the CID office on Saturday morning, ended at Fakirapul after passing through various roads.
