Iranian President calls for stronger diplomatic initiative from India
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has sought a stronger diplomatic initiative from India in establishing peace and security. He said Iran does not welcome war and the ongoing conflict is not in the interest of any party.

He made the call during a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) and ‘Shanghai Plus’ summit in Kyrgyzstan.

Pezeshkian thanked India for its support to Iran during the recent US-Israeli aggression. He said Iran's policy has always been to resolve disputes through dialogue and negotiation and to ensure peace and stability.

He alleged that the United States has chosen the path of force and conflict instead of a diplomatic solution. However, Iran is still interested in resolving unresolved issues through agreements and mutual understanding.

The Iranian President urged Modi to use India's contacts with various parties to play a role in stopping war and bloodshed and creating an environment for dialogue.
