Jamaat leader Akhtaruzzaman seeks bail in High Court
Jamaat-e-Islami leader and former MP Major (retd) Akhtaruzzaman has applied for bail in the High Court in a case filed on charges of obstructing government work and misbehaving with officials at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. His lawyer Sishir Monir confirmed this to the media today, Sunday (1 November).

Earlier last Monday, the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court rejected the bail application of this Jamaat leader. Even earlier, after a one-day remand, when he was produced before the court on October 4, the judge rejected the bail application and ordered him sent to jail.
