Government wants to build Dhaka as clean as Tokyo: Prime Minister
Prime Minister Tarek Rahman has announced plans to turn Dhaka and the whole country into clean cities like Tokyo, Japan. He said the government wants to ensure a healthy environment by preventing environmental pollution, removing waste, improving air quality and planting trees. According to him, measures that directly contribute to improving the living standards of marginalized people are true reforms.

The Prime Minister said these things at an exchange meeting with expatriate Bangladeshis in Tokyo, Japan on Wednesday (28 October). He said this reform of keeping ordinary people healthy by cleaning the environment is one of the government's top priorities. At that time, he alleged that attempts are being made to obstruct reform activities that benefit marginalized people, and he sought the support and cooperation of expatriates, regardless of party affiliation, in implementing these initiatives.
