Expatriates' Welfare Minister calls for stopping illegal foreign travel and hundi
Minister of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Ariful Haque Chowdhury has urged people to refrain from going abroad through illegal means and to send remittances through legal channels. At the same time, he warned of strict action against recruiting agencies that deceive aspiring migrants and overcharge them.

He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at a ceremony to award a recruiting license to ‘Prantik Shakti Limited’, an institution of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Force. The minister said this initiative of the Ansar force will help implement Prime Minister Tarek Rahman's goal of sending 10 million workers abroad in the next 5 years. He made it clear that Bangladesh will from now on export world-class skilled manpower, not unskilled workers.

Abdur Rahman Tarafdar; and senior officials of various departments were present at the event.
