When asked about the matter, the official made a controversial remark and claimed himself to be ‘a BNP leader of Pirganj’.
Recently, MP Zahidur Rahman went to inspect a puja mandap in Sengao Union of Pirganj and sought votes for the party candidate in the upcoming Union Parishad election. At that time, UNO Golam Rabbani Sardar, sitting beside him, was seen applauding first to express support. The video spread on social media and sparked severe criticism.
In response to journalists' questions, the UNO said, “Write it down, the UNO is now one of the BNP leaders of Pirganj. Whatever government remains, I am a leader of that party. I want to be viral.” Various political parties and ordinary people have questioned the neutrality of the administration over such politically biased behavior by a government official.
