On Thursday (22 October), this demand was made at a press conference organized at the Dhaka Reporters Unity under the banner of ‘SSC 2026 Student Rights Movement Bangladesh’.
At the press conference, the students raised five-point demands. These include—publishing the syllabus and marks distribution for the special supplementary examination quickly, announcing the routine with sufficient time, and publishing results quickly to ensure the opportunity to enroll in Class XI in the current academic year. However, if for any reason it is not possible to hold the examination this year, they also put forward an alternative demand to allow those who failed to enroll in Class XI conditionally and to arrange for them to take the supplementary examination next year while studying in college.
Students said that doing badly in one examination does not mean a student’s prospects are over. They are not asking for any irregular advantage; rather, to prevent dropping out of their education for a year, they have demanded a humane and realistic solution from the government. So that failed students can overcome frustration and get a chance to bounce back anew.
