BRTA makes manual number plates mandatory on the front of motorcycles
The Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has made it mandatory to attach a manual number plate on the front as well, alongside the approved RFID number plate at the rear of motorcycles. For this, motorcycle owners have been instructed to attach number plates according to the prescribed rules by November 15, 2026.

In an urgent public notice, BRTA said that owners must attach number plates to the front of motorcycles through their own arrangements. For scooters, the plate must be 200 mm long and 100 mm wide. For motorcycles other than scooters, the number plate dimensions have been set at 285 mm long and 50 mm wide.
