He said this to journalists after inspecting the Daulatpur Regional Duck Breeding Farm in Khulna on Thursday (October 8).
The state minister said the government is working to bring farmers under the farmer card and make them economically self-reliant. Noting that hatching eggs have already been exported to Nigeria, he said emphasis is being given to increasing production in this sector and creating new entrepreneurs.
Calling upon the youth to come forward in this sector, he said many young people have become successful by farming. They are being provided with loans and other necessary facilities. This will increase employment as well as the number of farmers at the marginal level.
Regarding the development of Daulatpur Regional Duck Breeding Farm, Sultan Salauddin Tuku said a project has already been taken to develop the farm. He expressed hope that the people of Khulna will receive proper services through it.
At that time, Member of Parliament for Khulna-3 constituency and Whip of the National Parliament Rakibul Islam Bakul, Khulna District Administrator and District Magistrate Hure Jannat, Vice-Chancellor of National University Professor Dr. A S M Amanullah, Director (Administration) of the Department of Livestock Dr. Md. Bayezar Rahman, and related officials were present.
