He disclosed this at a press briefing held in the conference room of his ministry at the Secretariat in Dhaka on Thursday.
The minister said that among the new 17 radiotherapy machines, six will be installed in Dhaka and 11 outside Dhaka. This will increase opportunities to receive cancer treatment at low cost in their respective areas and reduce the pressure of patients heading to Dhaka.
He also said that alongside expanding modern technology-driven treatment services, initiatives have been taken to introduce robotic surgery in the country. According to demand, there are plans to bring five of 10 robotic surgery machines this year.
Regarding the family planning program, the health minister said that a year-long family planning campaign will run across the country from December 1, 2026 to November 30, 2027. During this time, contraceptives and necessary counseling will be delivered door to door.
Regarding the dengue situation, he said that patient treatment and the supply of necessary saline are being ensured by following the World Health Organization's international protocol. Considering changes in dengue types and subsequent cardiac complications, doctors have been instructed to remain alert. He also emphasized continuing awareness and cleanliness activities to control mosquitoes.

Bazlur Rashid, Secretary of the Health Education Division A K M Benjamin Riazi, Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services Professor Dr. Prabhat Chandra Biswas, and relevant officials were present.
