At least 24 killed in deadly explosion on moving train in Pakistan
At least 24 people were killed and 70 others injured in a deadly explosion on a train carrying members of Pakistan's military forces. The incident occurred on Sunday near the Chaman Fatah station in Quetta, the capital of the violence-ridden Balochistan province.

Railway officials told BBC Urdu that the explosion caused three carriages and the engine to derail, with two carriages overturning. The shuttle train was carrying military personnel and their families returning home for Eid holidays. A massive explosion occurred at that time.

The separatist group Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for the attack. The armed group, which has been demanding independence for decades, said its members carried out a suicide bomb attack on the train targeting soldiers and their families. However, government officials have not yet confirmed the BLA attack.

Images from the scene showed burnt and mangled carriages, damage to several nearby vehicles, and a building hit by the blast. Local resident Nasir Ahmed told the BBC that the explosion occurred while the train was moving and passengers were inside.
