Fault at Maheshkhali LNG Terminal, Severe Gas Crisis in Titas Area
Due to a technical fault at the Maheshkhali LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) terminal, the supply of regasified LNG (RLNG) has decreased by approximately 450 million cubic feet (MMCFD). This has caused severe low gas pressure in the areas under Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company.

Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited informed about this in a notice on Tuesday (July 21).

The notice said that due to technical faults at the LNG terminals in Maheshkhali, the supply of RLNG to the national grid has significantly decreased. This has created a shortage in gas supply in Titas's service area.

The company said that until the situation improves, residential, commercial, industrial, CNG, and other categories of customers will have to face severe low gas pressure.

Titas Gas authorities have sincerely apologized for the inconvenience caused to customers due to this temporary problem. It was also informed that concerned parties are working to restore normal gas supply by quickly resolving the technical fault.
