Saidur Rahman appointed Press Minister at Bangladesh High Commission in Delhi
The government has appointed journalist Md. Saidur Rahman as Press Minister at the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi, India, on a contractual basis. This information was announced in a notification from the Ministry of Public Administration.

The notification, signed by Deputy Secretary Md. Golam Rabbani of the ministry, stated that Md. Saidur Rahman has been appointed on the condition of relinquishing any other profession, business, or employment relationship with any government, semi-government, private institution or organization.

According to the conditions, he will be contractually employed as Minister (Press) in the Press Wing of the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi, India, for a term of one year from the date of joining. Other terms and conditions of this appointment will be determined by the contract.

The newly appointed Minister (Press) Md. Saidur Rahman played a very active role in the student-public mass uprising of July-August 2024. He was a member of the 'Creative and Arts' and 'Fact Checking' sub-committees of the BNP's central election management for the thirteenth national parliamentary election.

He served as General Secretary of the Dhaka University Journalists' Association (DUJA) as well as President of the Reporters Forum for Election and Democracy (RFED).

Prior to his appointment, Saidur served as the 'Politics and Election Editor' of the Daily Ittefaq.
