Fear of new movement if July charter reforms are not implemented: Jubayer
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Jubayer has called for the swift implementation of the reforms promised in the July charter, warning that failure to do so could create an environment for a new democratic movement in the country.

He made this comment as the chief guest at a ward-level presidents and secretaries conference organized by the district Jamaat-e-Islami at the Chuadanga Darshana Municipal Auditorium on Saturday (July 18) morning.

Jubayer said the reforms in the July charter must be implemented quickly. Otherwise, an environment for a new democratic movement could be created among the people. He claimed that no autocratic government has been able to remain in power for long against the will of the people in history, nor will it be able to in the future.

He further said that the people of the country have witnessed various incidents in the past, including the deprivation of voting rights, attempts to establish one-party rule, and the weakening of democratic institutions. Fulfilling the people's expectations for an accountable, non-discriminatory, and democratic state is now a demand of the time.

The conference was presided over by Chuadanga District Jamaat's Ameer and Member of Parliament for Chuadanga-2 constituency, Ruhul Amin. Special guest at the event was Mohammad Mobarak Hossain, the party's director for the Jessore-Kushtia region.

He said that to strengthen the organization, every ward at the grassroots level must be made effective and well-organized. Leaders and workers must work unitedly to transform Jamaat into an organization of people's trust through ideological leadership, organizational discipline, and public welfare activities.

Also present at the conference were Assistant Director of the Jessore-Kushtia region Professor Abu Sadek and Member of Parliament for Chuadanga-1 constituency Masud Parvez Russell. Ward presidents and secretaries from various upazilas and unions of the district participated in the event.

After the conference, various guidelines were given to grassroots leaders to further accelerate the organizational activities of the organization.
