The Meteorological Department's inland river port warning stated that gusty or stormy winds may temporarily blow from the south or southeast over the regions of Rangpur, Dinajpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogura, Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Madaripur, Jashore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, and Sylhet. There is also a risk of thunderstorms and rain.
For this reason, river ports in these regions have been instructed to display cautionary signal number 1 from 5 AM to 1 PM.
Meanwhile, the 48-hour forecast signed by meteorologist A K M Nazmul said that there may be heavy to very heavy rainfall in some places of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions.
According to the forecast, heavy rainfall may be 44 to 88 millimeters, and very heavy rainfall may be more than 88 millimeters.
The Meteorological Department has advised taking necessary precautions by following the latest information on the situation.
