DSE market capitalization increased by more than Tk 5,000 crore in one week
The country's stock market trading ended the current week with an upward trend in indices. During this period, the market capitalization of the country's main stock market, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), increased by Tk 5,213 crore.

This information was obtained from the weekly update report of the stock market.

According to the data, the market capitalization of DSE increased by 0.75 percent or Tk 5,213 crore week-on-week to stand at Tk 6,97,739 crore. At the end of the previous week, this market capitalization was Tk 6,92,526 crore.

All major indices of DSE were upward throughout the week. The main price index DSESX increased by 91.04 points or 1.61 percent. The Shariah-based DSES index increased by 25.28 points or 2.21 percent and the blue-chip index DS-30 increased by 30.85 points or 1.45 percent.

Trading also saw significant momentum. Total turnover at DSE during the week was Tk 5,735.75 crore, which is Tk 977.93 crore more than the previous week's Tk 4,757.82 crore.

During this period, the average daily turnover was Tk 1,433.94 crore. The average daily turnover in the previous week was Tk 951.56 crore. That is, the average daily turnover increased by Tk 482.38 crore or 50.69 percent.

Throughout the week, units of 391 companies and mutual funds were traded on the DSE. Of these, the share prices of 272 increased, 90 decreased, and the prices of 29 remained unchanged.

Indices rose but trading fell at CSE

Week-on-week, the main index of Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), CASPI, increased by 1.70 percent to 15,407.77 points, and CSCX increased by 1.87 percent to 9,436.69 points.

Additionally, the CSE-30 index increased by 1.42 percent to 13,965.61 points, the CSE-50 index increased by 1.27 percent to 1,110.19 points, and the CSI index increased by 2.46 percent to 863.07 points.

However, despite the rise in indices, trading decreased at CSE. Total turnover this week was Tk 171.25 crore, which is Tk 189.67 crore less than the previous week's Tk 360.92 crore.

Throughout the week, units of 329 companies and mutual funds were traded on the CSE. Of these, the share prices of 211 increased, 89 decreased, and the prices of 29 remained unchanged.
