In a BAJUS notice on Thursday (November 5) morning, it was said that the decision was taken due to an increase in the price of Tejabi gold (pure gold) in the local market. The new prices will be effective from 10 am today.
According to the new prices, per bhori (11.664 grams) 21-carat gold is Tk 219,342, 18-carat gold is Tk 188,374, and Sanatan method gold is Tk 153,848.
BAJUS said that since VAT is included in the selling price of ornaments, no separate VAT can be charged; making charges will apply according to design. Excluding making charges and stones, 12 percent must be deducted on exchange and 18 percent on purchase.
Although gold prices have risen, silver prices remain unchanged. Including VAT, 22-carat silver is being sold at Tk 3,499 per bhori, 21-carat at Tk 3,383, 18-carat at Tk 2,916, and Sanatan method silver at Tk 2,216.
