If Aedes larvae are found in government residences, allocation will be cancelled and fines imposed: State Minister for Local Government
To build Dhaka as a clean and livable city, 20 special monitoring teams are taking to the field. State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mir Shah Alam said no compromise will be made in cleanliness activities, and if an unclean environment or Aedes mosquito larvae are found in government residences, allocations will be cancelled outright and large fines imposed.

He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at a meeting on the implementation and monitoring of the cleanliness programme of Dhaka metropolitan city, held at Shapla Hall of the Prime Minister's Office on Monday afternoon. He said that if government employees cannot keep their own quarters clean, they have no right to stay there. At that time, he directed the members of the monitoring committee to take strict legal action wherever irregularities and larvae are found.

He also said that to prevent theft, the two city corporations will install new fibreboard bins instead of plastic or iron dustbins. The State Minister expressed hope that due to the coordinated and strict role of the teams, a visible change will come to Dhaka within the next one to two months.
