Committee Chairman and Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed said detailed discussions were held in the special committee on constitutional amendment regarding the procedure for forming a caretaker government. He said this after a meeting held with constitutional and legal experts at the National Parliament Building on Saturday (October 24).
The Home Minister said various proposals came up at the meeting for forming a caretaker government from among the upper house if it is formed, or through the election of the Speaker with the agreement of the government and the opposition. In addition, the creation of the post of Vice President in the upper house and the appointment of advisers from among the Speaker or heads of other institutions also came up for discussion.
