The Department of Social Services under the Ministry of Social Welfare has decided to provide this grant to a total of 65,000 patients in the 2026-27 fiscal year.

The initiative has been taken to enhance patients' treatment capacity and reduce the financial burden on their families. In providing assistance, poor, insolvent, persons with disabilities, children, women, the elderly, and those who need urgent treatment will receive priority. The applicant must be a permanent citizen of Bangladesh. A patient can receive this benefit once in the same fiscal year and a maximum of three times in their lifetime. However, if fake documents or false information are provided, the application will be considered cancelled.

Interested patients must first apply online by visiting the designated link. Then, with the signed printed copy of the completed form, they must attach a photocopy of the National Identity Card or Birth Registration Certificate, bank account information, the doctor's latest prescription, and certified reports of tests for disease diagnosis that are not more than one year old—such reports must be attached. The department has instructed that the application form and required documents be submitted in two copies to the concerned upazila or city social services office.
