At that time, Ishrak Hossain was seen in an open jeep surrounded by supporters. Due to the protest, long-distance buses and public transport on the road in front of the Press Club remained suspended for some time. This caused traffic congestion in the surrounding areas.

Earlier at the press conference, Ishrak Hossain said that in light of various reports published in the media centered on the recent anti-drug operation, he had decided to voluntarily step down from the responsibilities of state minister.

Last Saturday, Ishrak Hossain took part in an anti-drug operation in the Doyaganj Guntighor rail gate area adjacent to Gendaria Railway Station in the capital. In a video published on his Facebook page, he can be seen shouting while raising a firearm. In the video, some of the bodyguards accompanying him can also be seen running to catch suspected individuals. One of them was seen kicking a young man.

In another video, detained persons can be seen being handed over to the police. At the scene, along with two bodyguards personally hired by Ishrak Hossain, Tofazzal Hossain and Lavlu, a government bodyguard was also present. The report mentioned that the personal bodyguards were also armed.
