He made the call while speaking as chief guest at a special meeting on law and order and overall preparations for the upcoming Sharadiya Durga Puja-2026, held at the Savar Upazila Parishad auditorium on Wednesday afternoon.
The state minister said, ‘Bangladesh first’—we must build the country by embracing this spirit. To make Durga Puja uninterrupted and festive, the Puja Celebration Committee, administration, law enforcement agencies, political parties and the general public must work together in coordination.
He said the puja mandaps will be brought under CCTV camera coverage and arrangements will be made to monitor the situation round the clock through monitoring teams. Alongside, everyone must remain alert so that no one can carry out subversive activities to destroy communal harmony.
Calling for the involvement of families, educational institutions, social organizations and public representatives in preventing drugs and juvenile crime, he said drugs cannot be eliminated only through law enforcement. Along with raising social awareness, effective initiatives are needed to keep juveniles away from crime and drugs.
The state minister also emphasized keeping puja mandaps and surrounding areas clean and not allowing water to accumulate anywhere to prevent dengue. He said Durga Puja can be celebrated in a peaceful and festive environment through collective efforts.
Dhaka Deputy Commissioner Farida Khanam presided over the meeting, which was attended by Dhaka-19 constituency MP Dr. Dewan Mohammad Salauddin, leaders of the Puja Celebration Committee, officials of district and upazila administrations, members of law enforcement agencies, and leaders of various political parties.
