Government will adjust domestically if oil prices fall and remain stable: Adviser
Prime Minister's Information and Broadcasting Adviser Dr. Jahed Ur Rahman has said the government will make the necessary adjustment regarding reducing prices in the domestic market if fuel oil prices in the global market fall and remain stable.

He said this in reply to journalists' questions at a press conference on the progress of various government activities at the conference room of the Department of Information on Tuesday (October 6).

Jahed Ur Rahman said that oil prices in the global market have fallen compared with before. However, it cannot be said right now for certain whether the current prices will remain stable in the long term. Earlier, after prices fell, within a few days they had risen again to 106–107 dollars.

He said that currently oil prices have fallen below 100 dollars. Prices have fallen due to various reasons, including the decision of several European countries to release oil from strategic reserves. However, the situation in the Middle East is still not fully stable.

The adviser said that if oil prices remain stable at a lower level in the global market, the government will certainly adjust prices in the domestic market. When fuel prices rise, there is a negative impact on inflation and investment, which also affects employment.
