The decision was announced in a joint statement after the alliance's emergency meeting in Riyadh on Monday. In it, member countries said they would take the necessary steps to rapidly deploy previously agreed military forces and capabilities in Saudi Arabia.

The statement said the main objective of this initiative is to strengthen Saudi Arabia's defense coordination and increase the three countries' combined military capability to confront potential threats.

At the meeting, attempts to attack Makkah and Madinah and attacks on various Saudi cities, civilian installations and economic infrastructure were condemned. The three countries rejected any attack or threat against Saudi Arabia's security and geographical integrity.

Meanwhile, Pakistan's retired Lieutenant General Nauman Mahmood has been appointed as the alliance's first Secretary-General for three years. However, details were not provided on how many troops or what type of weapons and military equipment would be sent to Saudi Arabia.
