He said this at an event organized on Thursday (September 10) on the occasion of DRU's anniversary.

The State Minister for Information said various initiatives are being taken by the government to ensure the professional and social security of journalists. If the allocation of the Journalist Welfare Trust is increased, sick, insolvent and distressed journalists and members of their families will receive more assistance.

He highlighted various steps taken by the government for the welfare of journalists and said effective initiatives would continue to protect media freedom, professional dignity and the rights of journalists.

DRU leaders, journalists from various media outlets and others concerned were present at the event.
