Sifat Abdullah's bail rejected over alleged derogatory remarks about Prime Minister
The court rejected the bail application of Sifat Abdullah, arrested from Gazipur on charges of making derogatory comments and spreading anti-state propaganda on social media against Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

On Monday afternoon, his bail petition was filed before the court of Judge Rakibul Hasan of Gazipur Metropolitan Court-5. After the hearing, the court rejected the petition.

Sifat Abdullah is the son of Sikandar Ali of the Tin Mosque area of Ward No. 38 in Gazipur Metropolitan. He is a student of Adamjee Cantonment College in Dhaka.

Gazipur Metropolitan Court Public Prosecutor Siddikur Rahman said a case has been filed against Sifat under the Anti-Terrorism Act. The state side claimed that he worked to implement the agenda of the fallen Awami League government and was active in favor of the fascist forces even before August 5.

However, no information was found in the report as to whether these allegations were proven in court. After the hearing, the court rejected Sifat Abdullah's bail petition.
