Senasadar Election Board-2026 starts with Prime Minister's inauguration
The Senasadar Election Board-2026 has started with the formal inauguration by Prime Minister Tarek Rahman. He inaugurated the board's activities as the chief guest at an event organized at the Army Headquarters on Sunday (July 26).

It was informed in the press release that in this first phase promotion board, eligible officers of the Bangladesh Army will be considered for promotion from Lieutenant Colonel to Colonel and from Colonel to Brigadier General.

In his inaugural speech, the Prime Minister paid deep respect to the great proclaimer of independence, Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, all martyrs of the great liberation war, wounded and heroic freedom fighters, and the martyred members of the armed forces. He also remembered the army personnel who were killed and injured while serving in the Chittagong Hill Tracts.

He instructed to give utmost importance to professional efficiency, leadership, discipline, honesty, trustworthiness, loyalty, and ability to perform duties, rising above political ideology or personal likes and dislikes in the promotion process.

The Prime Minister said that the Bangladesh Army is playing an important role by maintaining internal peace and order, ensuring stability, and assisting the civil administration in disaster management, in addition to protecting the country's independence and sovereignty. He sincerely thanked the Chief of Army Staff and all members of the force for this contribution.

The Chief of Army Staff and the Chief of General Staff (CGS) welcomed the Prime Minister at the event. The Chief of Army Staff expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for attending the event and inaugurating the board despite his busy schedule.

The Prime Minister's Defense Advisor Brigadier General (Retd.) Dr. A.K.M. Shamsul Islam, PSC, G (Retd.) and senior army officers were present at the event. After the event, the Prime Minister participated in a photo session with the officials present and recorded comments in the visitor's book.
