Barrister Sumon granted bail in Habiganj attempted murder case
The High Court has granted bail to Supreme Court lawyer and former Member of Parliament Barrister Syed Sayedul Haque Sumon in an attempted murder case in Habiganj.

The High Court bench comprising Justice Sheikh Md. Zakir Hossain and Justice Md. Zakir Hossain issued the order by disposing of a previously issued rule in the attempted murder case.

Lawyer Lutfe Jahan argued on behalf of Barrister Sumon in court.

It is noted that Barrister Sumon was arrested around 1:30 am on the night of October 21, 2024, from the Mirpur-6 area of the capital.

Shortly before his arrest, in a post on his verified Facebook account, he wrote, 'I am going with the police. See you in court. Please pray for everyone.'

There are multiple cases against the former independent Member of Parliament in various police stations of the capital as well as in Habiganj.
