Which food should you eat after which at a buffet? Learn the correct order
In a buffet restaurant, since various types of food are arranged together, many people cannot figure out what to eat first and what to eat later. However, if you eat in the correct order, you can enjoy the taste of the food well and also aid digestion. Additionally, following some common etiquette makes the buffet experience more enjoyable.

First, take a look around the entire buffet

Before taking food, take a look around the entire buffet counter once. Deciding in advance which foods are available and which ones you want to eat reduces the chance of unnecessarily filling your plate.

The correct order of eating food

At a buffet, it is usually best to start with light food. First, you can take salad, soup, sushi, shrimp, smoked salmon, or other appetizers. Then, gradually move on to the main course. For the main course, take a moderate amount of rice, biryani, pasta, meat, fish, or other preferred dishes.

Finally, you can end the meal with cake, pudding, ice cream, fruit, or other sweets as dessert.

Be mindful when choosing drinks

In many buffet restaurants, juice or soft drinks have to be paid for separately. So, before taking a drink, it is good to know whether it is included in the buffet package. Choose drinks according to your need and preference.

Follow buffet etiquette

Follow the line: Always stand in line when taking food. Do not try to go ahead by overtaking others.

Do not take too much food at once: Take a small amount the first time. If you like it, you can take more later. This will reduce food waste.

Do not eat standing in front of the counter: Taking food and returning to your own table to eat is part of politeness.

Use a new plate each time: Use a clean plate when taking food again. Taking food again on a used plate is discouraged in many buffets.

Avoid wasting food

Take only as much as you can eat. Enjoying the variety of food at a buffet does not mean filling your plate to the brim. Taking food in moderation reduces waste and allows other guests to enjoy their food comfortably.

Eating at a buffet by following the correct rules and etiquette not only enhances the taste of the food but also gives a good impression of your taste, awareness, and social behavior.
