Gold price drops again, decreased by Tk 2,216 per bhori
The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has decided to reduce the price of gold again in the country's market. According to the new decision, the price of 22-carat gold has been reduced by Tk 2,216 per bhori (11.664 grams).

On Monday (July 13) morning, BAJUS announced this in a notice. The new price has been effective in jewelry stores across the country from 10 am on Monday.

BAJUS stated that due to a decrease in the price of raw gold (pure gold) in the local market, the new gold rate has been set considering the overall situation.

According to the new price, including VAT, the price of 22-carat gold per bhori has been set at Tk 2,21,966.

Additionally,

  • 21-carat gold per bhori is priced at Tk 2,11,993,
  • 18-carat per bhori is Tk 1,82,075, and
  • Traditional method gold per bhori has been set at Tk 1,48,774.

BAJUS stated that this price will remain effective in all jewelry establishments across the country until further notice. However, additional making charges will apply depending on the design of the ornaments.

The organization also said that VAT will be included in the selling price of gold and silver ornaments. Therefore, VAT cannot be collected separately from customers. Additionally, in cases of ornament exchange and repurchase, BAJUS's existing policy will be followed, excluding VAT, making charges, and stone prices.
