Iran claims attacks on US installations in the Middle East
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed to have carried out missile and drone attacks targeting US military installations in the Middle East. The organization stated that the attacks were launched against US military targets in Bahrain and Kuwait.

In a statement on Wednesday (July 8), the IRGC said the military operation was conducted in response to recent US airstrikes. They claimed that a total of 85 military targets were attacked, including the US Navy's Fifth Fleet base in Bahrain and the Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait. However, independent verification of this claim was not immediately possible.

Earlier, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said it had carried out airstrikes on more than 80 Iranian military targets in the Strait of Hormuz area, accusing Iran of attacking commercial ships. According to the US, the strikes targeted Iran's air defense systems, coastal radars, command and control infrastructure, and naval capabilities of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

International media reported that after the Iranian attacks, air defense systems were activated in Bahrain and Kuwait, and warning sirens were sounded in several areas.

Meanwhile, both the US and Iran have accused each other of violating the ceasefire. These recent tit-for-tat attacks have renewed tensions in the Middle East and raised concerns in the international arena over the situation.
