The meeting was held at the minister's office at the Ministry of Health in Dhaka on Wednesday. The discussion covered reforms in Bangladesh's healthcare system, modernisation, and improvement of nursing education standards.
The Health Minister said the government is working on reforming the health system to bring healthcare services to the doorsteps of people at all levels. Initiatives have been taken to improve the quality of medical services by adding modern equipment to hospitals.
The meeting also discussed the memorandum of understanding signed between Bangladesh and the Philippines on improving nursing education and enhancing capacity.
The Philippine Ambassador sought cooperation in utilising Bangladesh's pharmaceutical industry capacity to meet the medicine demands of her country. She also emphasised the importance of launching direct Dhaka-Manila flights to strengthen commercial and public relations between the two countries.
