Pakistan's Prime Minister's Office said on social media that China's Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong and Islamabad's Ambassador to Beijing Khalil Hashmi were also present at the airport to welcome him.

An Islamabad statement on the purpose of Shehbaz's visit said that in Hangzhou, the Pakistani Prime Minister met with Wang Hao, Secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC). During the meeting, two cooperation agreements were signed in the presence of Shehbaz Sharif. This includes a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a 'Sister Province' relationship between China's Zhejiang Province and Pakistan's Punjab Province.
The statement said the purpose of this MoU is to enhance mutual communication and cooperation in trade, investment, agriculture, education, culture, tourism, and between the people of the two countries.
Additionally, mentioning the celebration of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Islamabad and Beijing, the Pakistani Prime Minister's Office said that the two countries are now entering a new era of practical, people-oriented, and development-oriented cooperation.
Pakistan also informed that to further strengthen economic cooperation, the Prime Minister will meet with Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of leading Chinese companies and visit the headquarters of the Alibaba Group.
