Remittances of Tk 28,000 crore in just 25 days of July, Islamic Bank tops
In the first 25 days of the current July month, remittances from expatriates came in at $2,294.50 million, which is approximately Tk 28,283.235 crore in Bangladeshi currency. During this period, among the banks in the country, the highest remittances came through Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC.

This information was revealed in the latest report published by Bangladesh Bank on Sunday (July 26).

According to the report, during the mentioned period, $1,657.1 million came through private banks. $337.17 million came through state-owned banks, $301.55 million through specialized banks, and $3.62 million through branches of foreign banks.

On a bank-wise basis, in the first 25 days of July, Islami Bank collected the highest remittance of $357.68 million and is in the top position.

In second place, Bangladesh Krishi Bank received $301.55 million. Then, through BRAC Bank came $226.09 million, and Agrani Bank collected $169.31 million.

According to Bangladesh Bank data, as the flow of expatriate income through legal banking channels continues, remittances play an important role in strengthening the country's foreign exchange reserves.
