Sources said that the capital, divisional cities, district headquarters, memorials, martyr memorial sites, and important government installations have been placed under a special security cordon. Accordingly, additional personnel deployment, patrols, intelligence surveillance, and quick response teams have been kept ready to respond rapidly.
Mobile and foot patrols have been intensified at important intersections and entry points in the capital. Additional checkpoints have been set up at various locations, and vehicles and suspicious individuals are being searched. Instructions have been given to ensure the visible presence of security personnel at public gathering places, memorials, and event venues.
RAB has said that on the occasion of the day, each of its battalions will perform duties in their respective areas. At the same time, security operations will be conducted in coordination with district administration, police, BGB, and other intelligence agencies. Maximum importance is being given to intelligence gathering, with close monitoring of suspicious individuals and the possible activities of banned organizations.
RAB's bomb disposal unit and dog squad have conducted sweeping operations at various important locations in the capital. Specialized units have been kept on standby around the clock to identify potential explosives or suspicious objects and to handle emergency situations. In addition to regular DMP members, the SWAT team is also ready.
According to police headquarters sources, separate security plans are being implemented at the district and metropolitan levels based on local realities. Surveillance has been increased at important installations, government institutions, and public gathering places. Arrangements have also been made to analyze intelligence information and quickly disseminate it to the field level.
Assistant Inspector General (Media) of Police Headquarters, Shahadat Hossain, said that all metropolitan and district police have been instructed to ensure necessary security. Intelligence activities and cyber patrolling have been intensified to prevent potential sabotage and curb rumors on social media.
Intelligence officials said that around major national days and state programs, equal importance is now being given to visible security as well as technology-based surveillance and coordinated activities of various agencies. This makes it possible to identify and prevent potential risks in advance.
