AKM Selim Reza Habib, Member of Parliament for Pabna-2 constituency, has announced a tough stance against drugs, terrorism, extortion and illegal occupation. He said there will be no place for drug users, drug sellers, terrorists, extortionists and land grabbers in his constituency. To curb these crimes, complaint boxes and a hotline will be launched, and legal action will be taken based on complaints.

He said these things in the speech of the chief guest at a citizen rally organized by the Sujanagar Upazila Administration at Sujanagar Bazar on Sunday (July 5) afternoon.

Selim Reza Habib said, "There will be no place for drug users, sellers, terrorists, extortionists and land grabbers in my area. Two complaint boxes will be kept and a hotline will be launched to receive complaints. Necessary action will be taken based on the complaints. Even if those who do politics with me are involved in these crimes, they will not be spared."

He informed that three separate committees have been formed to prevent drugs, terrorism and extortion in the constituency. Those who are accused of involvement in these crimes have not been kept in any committee. A separate list of criminals will be prepared and legal action will be taken through the administration.

The MP further said that after the political change, the government has started working to eradicate drugs. To eliminate crime from society, the practice of morality must be increased. At the same time, he called upon the administration, public representatives, political leaders and the general public to work together.

Addressing the administration, he said that if any officer is irregular or biased in performing his duties, necessary action must be taken after investigation. He also called for refraining from the politics of political revenge.

Pabna District Commissioner Aminul Islam presided over the event. He said that without public awareness and political consensus, along with law enforcement, drug eradication is not possible. If the people actively participate, the anti-drug campaign will be more effective.

In his speech as a special guest, Pabna Superintendent of Police Md. Sufi Ullah informed that a 'Zero Tolerance' policy is being followed against drugs in the district. In the last two months, more than a thousand drug users and drug sellers have been arrested and legal action has been taken against them.

The rally was attended by the National Intelligence Agency, Department of Narcotics Control, RAB, Ansar-VDP, Upazila Administration, Police Administration and local political and social leaders.
