New record in remittance, $35.56 billion came to the country in FY 2025-26
Bangladesh has set a new history in remittance earnings. In the just-concluded fiscal year 2025-26, expatriate Bangladeshis sent $35.562 billion to the country, the highest remittance in a single fiscal year in the country's history.

This information was disclosed in a notice published by Bangladesh Bank on Wednesday (July 1).

According to the central bank's data, a total of $2,806 million in remittances came to the country in June, the last month of the fiscal year 2025-26. Of this, $120 million came in on June 30 alone.

However, June's remittance was slightly lower compared to the same period last year. In June 2025, $2,823 million came to the country.

According to Bangladesh Bank's calculations, a total of $35,562 million in remittances came to the country from July 2025 to June 30, 2026. In the previous fiscal year 2024-25, the amount was $30,329 million.

That is, remittance flow increased by $5,233 million in one year, which stakeholders believe will strengthen foreign exchange reserves and make a significant contribution to the country's economy.
