He said that NCP leaders and activists are being attacked and faced with lawsuits for speaking out against reform, justice, and corruption. However, despite all this, the party will remain in the field and will not compromise.

He made these remarks at an emergency press conference organized at the NCP's temporary central office in Banglamotor, Dhaka, on Tuesday (May 26) afternoon.

The press conference was arranged to present the party's stance on the attack on him in Jhenaidah and the subsequent situation.

Nasiruddin Patwari alleged that after coming out of the Jhenaidah old Collector's Office Mosque after Friday prayers last Friday, eggs were thrown at him. Subsequently, bricks and stones were thrown, and an attack was carried out with local weapons.

He said that during the attack, alongside BNP, Chhatra Dal, and Jubo Dal leaders and activists, the police also played a role.

He further said that when he went to file a case at the police station regarding the attack, the case was not initially accepted. At one point, the electricity connection in the police station area was also cut off. He claimed that later, under pressure, the police were forced to accept the case.

At the press conference, the NCP leader said that while leaving the police station after filing the case, a large number of people gathered at the police station gate and attempted to attack him. He also alleged that the police failed to play an effective role in controlling the situation.

Criticizing the government, Nasiruddin Patwari said that speaking out against extortion, terrorism, and corruption in the country is met with repression. But the NCP will not compromise on these issues. He said, “Our stance on implementing reforms, seeking justice for the July killings, and fighting corruption will continue.”

Warning the government, he said that if unjust attacks and lawsuits continue, the political situation could become more unstable. At the same time, he expressed concern over the country's security situation.

NCP spokesperson Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan also spoke at the press conference. Party Joint Secretary Alauddin Mohammad, SM Saif Mostafiz, and other leaders were also present.
