Measles. A disease that was almost eradicated from Bangladesh is now pushing children toward death. One after another, small faces—many of whom have not yet learned to say 'Maa' properly, nor have they fully seen the colors of the world—their lives are stopping amid fever, cough, reddish rashes and respiratory distress. The number of deaths is no longer just a number. Counting 100, 200, 300—like this, it reaches 499. One day, it will touch 500. And then perhaps, on some hospital bed, or in a mud hut in a village, a mother or father will place their hand on their child's forehead and say in a trembling voice, 'Open your eyes just a little more, my child.' But the child will not open their eyes.
