He said this while speaking as the chief guest at a seminar organized by the Bangladesh-China Friendship Association at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital on Saturday (July 18). Chinese Ambassador to Dhaka Yao Wen was present as a special guest at the event.
Mirza Fakhrul said Bangladesh and China have a long-standing friendly relationship. The relationship between the two countries gained a new dimension through the initiative of martyr President Ziaur Rahman and was further strengthened during the tenure of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.
He said China is currently one of the largest economic powers in the world. If Bangladesh can benefit from the country's unprecedented progress in science and technology, the country's development will accelerate further.

The BNP Secretary General said creating employment for about 4 million unemployed youth in a country of nearly 20 million people is the biggest challenge. China's technology, investment and industrial cooperation can play an important role in achieving this goal.
He further said there is a long-standing relationship between Bangladesh and the Communist Party of China. At the same time, the involvement of Bangladeshi youth in higher education, technical education and business in China is deepening the relationship between the two countries.
Mirza Fakhrul expressed the hope that China will further expand cooperation with Bangladesh in various sectors including energy, technical education, agriculture, communication infrastructure and industrialization, not just limited to import-dependent trade, which will play a positive role in the interests of both countries.
