The minister said ensuring road safety is not the responsibility of any single party. Noting that operating unsafe transport under the excuse of a lack of skilled drivers is not acceptable, he said road safety cannot be compromised citing a driver crisis. If transport owners recommend qualified drivers, the matter of issuing licenses after examinations will be considered, he said. He also said work is underway to formulate an integrated road safety law by 2027. State Minister for Road Transport Habibur Rashid, Members of Parliament Rakibul Islam and Md. Shamchur Rahman Shimal Biswas, and leaders of transport owners and workers organizations were present at the event.
