The Prime Minister said that by setting up factories in Bangladesh, Japanese companies will be able to access the large domestic market as well as export goods to other countries. The Bangladesh government will provide all possible cooperation for setting up factories in the Japanese Economic Zone in Araihazar. He also said that by 2030, Bangladesh will become the ninth-largest consumer economy in the world and by 2034, its GDP will surpass one trillion dollars. Under the recently signed Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA), 7,379 Bangladeshi products will get duty-free benefits in Japan, and Japanese products will also receive preferential treatment in Bangladesh.
For future growth, the Prime Minister expects Japan's support and investment in three important sectors such as energy infrastructure, renewable energy, AI and robotics-based IT parks, space technology, and building expressways and rail networks across the country. In addition, he emphasized the learning of Japanese language by Bangladeshi youth to strengthen people-to-people relations between the two countries.
