He made these remarks at a press briefing after unveiling the foundation stone for the construction of the new headquarters of Ansar and VDP in Tejgaon of the capital on Thursday. The minister also said that this activity against terrorism, extortion and drugs will be further strengthened in the future.
Not joint operations; coordinated activities of law enforcement agencies are a regular process: Home Minister
The Home Minister said the Ministry of Public Works has allocated 3.428 acres of land in Tejgaon for the Ansar headquarters. A modern and large infrastructure will be constructed there. At present, due to space shortage and transportation problems at the headquarters in Khilgaon, a new facility has become necessary.
He said there are about 20,000 Battalion Ansar, 60,000 attached Ansar and about 6 million trained manpower under the VDP in the country. Initiatives are being taken to create additional facilities in Ashulia and Sher-e-Bangla Nagar as well to resolve the housing crisis of Ansar members.

The minister said if evidence is found of negligence in duty or involvement in crime by members of law enforcement agencies, action is being taken under departmental and criminal laws. At the same time, he also remarked that no evil force will be allowed to create instability in December.
