New crackdown in the capital, crime-prone hotspots identified
Chand Udyan, Nabinagar Housing, Basila, Shyamoli Housing and Geneva Camp in Mohammadpur-Adabor, and several areas of Mirpur-Pallabi have been kept under surveillance. Some areas of South Manikdi adjoining ECB Square and the Cantonment are also under special watch.
According to police records, 158 juvenile gangs are active in the capital, and these gangs have 1,219 members. Sources said allegations of patronage by influential individuals, political leaders, and businessmen behind them are also being verified. However, evidence of these allegations will be verified through legal process.

Alongside the criminals, the communications, financing, and instructions of domestic gangs with several people staying abroad are also being scrutinized.
