Those who call BNP fascist lack knowledge: Mirza Fakhrul

He said these things while talking to journalists after the inauguration of the divisional office of the Bangladesh Rural Development Board (BRDB) in the terminal area of Rangpur city on Monday (July 27) morning.

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that the decision of the party's standing committee on the presidential election is final. He also commented that the responsibility of determining the eligibility of candidates in local government elections will remain with the Election Commission (EC).

Regarding Jamaat-e-Islami, the BNP Secretary General said that the party's Ameer should review their constitution properly. At the same time, he questioned whether Jamaat is a democratic political party at all.

Highlighting the government's plans for the agriculture sector, Mirza Fakhrul said that an initiative has been taken to build a commercial agriculture-based economy through interest-free loans and investments. He also expressed hope that the local government elections may be held at the end of this year or at the beginning of next year.
