Tension in Jackson Heights over Prime Minister's visit to New York

When both sides chanted slogans and made statements against each other, the situation became heated. Members of the New York Police took position at the scene to control law and order and remained alert.

Prime Minister Tarek Rahman left Dhaka for the United States to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. He will address the UN General Assembly on September 24.

Political activity has increased in the Bangladeshi community in New York centering his visit. Meetings, rallies and welcoming programs are being held in Jackson Heights and various areas.
