He disclosed this while speaking as chief guest at a discussion meeting and award distribution ceremony held at Jagannath University on Thursday morning on the occasion of the holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi (PBUH).

Tk 1,100 crore allocated for honoring religious leaders and service providers
The minister said, under the allocation, it has been decided to bring 256,074 religious leaders and service providers of 86,709 institutions under the state honorarium.
He said that under the pilot project, allowances have already been given to 13,949 people, including imams, muezzins, khadem, priests, sebaits and Buddhist religious leaders.

Regarding Hajj management, the religious minister said that for the 2026 Hajj, Tk 48,723,014 has been refunded from the unspent funds of 4,341 pilgrims under government management. At the same time, he said the Hajj airfare has been reduced to Tk 130,000.
Highlighting the significance of the holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi, the minister called for building lives by following the ideals of the Great Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).
At the event, impressed by the essay of Nazmun Akter, a student of the Department of Islamic Studies, the religious minister announced a personal prize of Tk 50,000 for her and a prize of Tk 150,000 to encourage 11 other winning students.
